There are no direct services between France and Florence. But the train is a good option for those wishing to travel to Florence from Rome, Venice or Milan. For your information, since the landslide in the Maurienne in August 2023, the rail link between France and Italy via Savoie is still closed at the time of writing. A bus service through the Alps has been introduced. For the direct Paris-Milan line, SNCF offers alternative but longer routes, with connections via Switzerland.
From Paris, to get to Florence by train: travel from Gare de Lyon to Milan-Garibaldi or Torino-Porta Susa by TGV (6-8 hours), then transfer to Florence-Santa Maria Novella (approx. 2 hours).

Bike, scooters & co Florence - Firenze
The city may not be very big, but it can be a good idea to find a bike to get around. After all, on foot, your legs will be heavy by the end of the day. Cycle paths are numerous and safe. The weather is often fine, and car traffic in the center is reserved exclusively for residents, which keeps traffic to a minimum. All these positive points encourage you to find a bike-share scheme, such as RideMovi (www.ridemovi.com), with its orange bicycles. Prices: day pass from €5. However, you should be aware that the streets of the historic center are often packed with people.
As for the electric scooter craze, it hasn't (yet?) invaded Florence!

Slowly but surely, car-sharing services, like the "Enjoy" application (enjoy.eni.com/it), are developing in Florence.
Finally, if you're traveling by electric car, a word of advice: download JuicePass. This free application allows you to view all the charging stations around you on a map, as well as making payment quick and easy.
If youhave a serious problem on the road, call 116 (free 24-hour breakdown service for cars registered abroad).
