DUOMO
Romanesque cathedral dedicated to Saint Romulus, with an interior featuring works by Giovanni della Robbia
An imposing11th-century Romanesque cathedral with three naves, modified and enlarged in the 13thand 16th centuries. Fiesole's duomo is dedicated to Saint Romulus, bishop of the town in the 1st century. The interior features works by Giovanni della Robbia, Bicci di Lorenzo and Mino da Fiesole, as well as a Salutati chapel with frescoes by Cosimo Rosselli (1439-1507). In the crypt, which houses the relics of Saint Romulus, the marble altar is an interesting 15th-century work. The crenellated stone bell tower dates from the first half of the 13th century.
