VILLA LE BALZE
Villa located on the slopes of the hill of Fiesole, built for the American philosopher Charles Augustus Strong
Dominating the Arno Valley, Le Balze is a villa located on the slopes of Fiesole Hill, built in 1911 for the American philosopher Charles Augustus Strong. With its small but very pleasant gardens, designed by the English landscape architect Cecil Pinsent, this villa offers beautiful views and a pleasant country walk. Following the donation of the villa by the wealthy Rockefeller family in 1979, Georgetown's famous American University made it its headquarters and maintains a centre for Renaissance studies.
