ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM
Museum founded in 1878 that houses important archaeological finds from Fiesole and other nearby towns
Founded in 1878, the building was originally a simple repository for objects found during excavations in the adjacent Roman theatre. The collections on display at that time were located in the current municipal palace in Piazza Mino. Gradually, visits were allowed before the site was truly established as a museum in 1914 and redesigned by the architect Ezio Cerpi. It is divided into two sections: the topographical section and the antiquities section, which contain important archaeological finds from Fiesole and other nearby towns.
