AREA ARCHEOLOGICA
Archaeological zone featuring a well-preserved amphitheatre, the remains of a Roman temple and Roman baths
The archaeological area of Fiesole houses the remains of a Roman temple, surrounding those of a small Hellenistic temple (late 4th-early 3rd century BC). Further on, the thermal baths also date back to Roman times. Of imposing size, they were structured in two parts: an exterior part, with an inclined swimming pool, and an interior part (frigidarium, tepidarium and calidarium). Then opens the magnificent theatre, discovered at the beginning of the 19th century. It dates back to the imperial era and preserves the cavea, which has ten orders of terraces for 3,000 seats.
