Family villa offering rooms all furnished with antique furniture and particularly warm
Eleven rooms in a traditional Renaissance style house, located in the middle of woods, olive groves and vineyards, on the slopes of Retaia. Villa Rucellai has been owned by the Pique family for more than two centuries. Everything is simple, quiet and in very good taste for a safe stopover. The rooms, all furnished with antique furniture and ochre and yellow colours, are particularly warm. The high ceilings add to the charm of the rooms, some with large bathrooms. For a relaxing stay!

Sicher ist die Geschichte der letzten Jahrhunderte nicht auszublenden, trotz allem muss ein so,altes Gebäude auch in Schuss gehalten werden, viele Details verlangen nach Pflege. Innen sind die Gemeinschaftsräume gepflegt und stilvoll, ebenso der parkähnliche Garten.
Die Zufahrt bietet Spaß für versierte Autofahrer, der Hinweis auf die gesperrte Zufahrt blieb leider aus, so mussten wir ca. 20 Minuten Umweg fahren und von der anderen Seite zur Villa fahren. Auch eine Beschilderung wäre hilfreich.
Frühstück ist Oki, jedoch frei nach dem Motto „wer zu erst kommt mahlt zu erst“ denn nachgefüllt wurde nicht automatisch.
Die Zimmer sind einfach eingerichtet, im Oktober relativ frisch und feucht, eben wie in einem alten Haus.
Englische Kommunikation sollte gut ausgeprägt sein, deutsch geht gar nicht, sonst halt italienisch… ????
Wer in den Hügeln wandern will ist dort gut aufgehoben.
