MARCHESI ANTINORI
Temple of wine of the Antinori family, a visit not to be missed!
Since 2012, Antinori, the "superstar" of Italian wine, has been inviting visitors to its 26,000 square meter cellars, nestled in the middle of the vineyards, which blend perfectly into the gentle Tuscan landscape. It took seven years to build this impressive complex, the work of architect Marco Casamonti, who can make you feel like you're in the next James Bond movie! This amazing temple of wine also illustrates the undeniable desire of the Antinori family for modernity. You can learn about the history of this ancestral family, the winemaking process of Chianti Classico, the tasting rooms, an art collection and the wine museum. And don't forget the rooftop restaurant (be sure to make reservations)!
Antinori has a branch in Puglia (Tormaresco estate), another in Piedmont (Prunotto estate), and a third in Umbria (Cervaro della Sala estate). For years, it has been establishing its power on the international market thanks to the production of exceptional wines. A true model of success, the estate has greatly contributed to the renaissance of Chianti, and this family has also greatly influenced the history of Italian wines. The current director, Marquis Piero Antinori, represents the twenty-sixth generation of this dynasty of Tuscan winemakers, who arrived in Tuscany in the thirteenth century. Today, the state-of-the-art winery is a must-see. It is breathtaking!
