In the heart of the historic centre of Siena, a few steps from Piazza del Campo, the restaurant of the Gallo Nero ("Black Rooster", which is the historical emblem of Chianti) is worth a visit on its own. The room in the basement is an old pantry dating from the 13th century, when meat merchants kept it under salt. Today, the room is beautifully furnished with stained glass windows. The map also provides a beautiful overview of the region's specialities. In addition, there is a wide choice of delicious gluten-free dishes on the menu.

런치로 감자와 홍합이 들어간 파스타를 먹었고 페어링한 brunello di montalcino도 잘 어울렸다. 인테리어와 소품들이 멋지다. 주인아저씨(?)한테 가구에 대해 물어보니 일본, 파리, 스위스 유럽 각지에서 공수해온 오리지널 제품들이라며 세세히 잘 설명해주셔서 흥미로웠다. 직원들은 친절했고 공간만으로도 다시 방문하기 충분히 매력적인 곳이라 생각한다!
