This place is distinguished by its character, charm and diversity. Local products (cheese and delicatessen to accompany the wine) and traditional food. You can choose from a terrace overlooking the Roman theatre, a room for beer lovers, another for catering and a last one for art exhibitions. A true historical journey punctuated by a Roman cistern and an Etruscan well. In addition to this unexpected setting, the restaurant also offers an excellent surprise, not to be missed the trippa Volterriana and homemade fresh pasta.

We were not impressed. As a San Lino guest, you have a different, very limited, menu. (A photo of the menu was not accepted by google for the review—not sure why).
When we asked if water or wine was included in the fixed menu, the host, who spoke fluent english, told us 'whatever you want'. At the end of the meal we discovered it is not included.
Overall we were not impressed by the quality or choice of the food options.
The next time we were at the restaurant, we asked if we could just have a credit toward the regular menu. That was ok, but they charged more than the difference in price of what was on the limited menu and the price of the choices on the regular menu. On that night we had a very good pizza and excellent desserts.
Overall, better NOT to get half board at Hotel San Lino and take your money to a different restaurant for dinner.
