One of Italy's finest youth hostels, housed in a former convent near Volterra, with around 20 rooms.

This is undoubtedly one of Italy's finest youth hostels. Housed in a former 13th-century convent, it boasts some twenty rooms of varying sizes, some of which can accommodate up to six people, bed linen included. The lobby has little to envy the best hotels in the region. The magnificent cloister is accessible to guests, from breakfast to relaxing afternoons (with hydromassage and solarium, please!) and for sunset aperitifs. A wonderful surprise.

Come in altre circostanze, abbiamo fatto ricorso al Chiostro delle Monache per il solo servizio ristorazione, in quanto struttura collegata all'Hotel Foresteria. Abbiamo cenato in quello che era il refettorio dell'antico convento ... con ancora ben conservati alcuni degli affreschi che ornavano le pareti. Abbiamo optato per il menu Fiorentina (50 euro a persona), che comprendeva bruschette di vario genere, una fiorentina molto buona e ben preparata, contorno di patate fritte o al forno e una buona pastiera.

Sono stata in questo ristorante solo per mangiare a cena e c'è tante freddo, e non è salutare mangiare con il freddo e rimetterci la mia salute, per il resto il cibo è discreto

B&B con varie tipologie di camere (disposte su più piani), ed, al piano terra, ampia sala colazioni. Corridoi e camere sempre puliti ed in ordine, personale cortese e sempre disponibile.

Camere un po' piccole ma con vari confort, molto pulite.
Persino il dispenser del sapone in doccia e vicino al lavandino.
Comodi il frigo in camera ed il phon.
Buona la colazione.
Personale accogliente e sempre disponibile.

C'è sempre un piacevole silenzio.
Facilmente raggiungibile.
Plus, si presta attenzione alla differenziata.
