PALAZZO VITI
Palace with a cozy interior beautifully furnished and decorated in Volterra.
Immerse yourself in the beautifully furnished and decorated interior of Palazzo Viti, still inhabited by the family (owners until 1874 of a famous alabaster factory in Volterra). Its construction began at the end of the 16th century. Behind its Renaissance façade, attributed to Bartolomeo Ammannati, it houses a collection of alabasters, sacred vestments, porcelain and Chinese drawings, representing European and Oriental art from 1400 to 1900. Film buffs will recognize the setting of Luchino Visconti's film Sandra (1965), starring Claudia Cardinale, which was partly shot here.
