CHIESA SANT'AGOSTINO
Great church to visit especially for its very detailed frescoes and rare clarity, and for its chapel San Barolo
The large church of St. Augustine, with its sober exterior, can be visited in particular for its very detailed frescoes and rare clarity, dating from the 15th century, attributed to Benozzo Gozzoli, relating the life of St. Augustine. Gozzoli (1420-1497) was one of the most important painters of the Florentine school, author of the masterpiece The Procession of the Magi of the Medici-Riccardi Palace in Florence. This church can also be visited for its San Barolo chapel, with its majolica paving and frescoes by Sebastiano Mainardi.
