Located on the passeggiata, the Gran Caffè Margherita is one of the most representative buildings of Viareggio's eclectic era.
One of the historical bars-restaurants of Viareggio and certainly the most famous of all. With its two Liberty domes, it has become the symbol of the city. The building, dating from 1929, houses a bar, a restaurant (pizzas and quality catering) and a bookshop (which allows the curious to enter without consuming, to admire the ceilings). Beware of unpleasant surprises: the prices of the drinks indicated on the restaurant menu are not the same as those applied to the bar (surprisingly less cheap)!
