CHIESA SANTA MARIA DELLA SPINA
Church of Gothic style whose interior presents the copies of the statues of Tommaso Pisano in Pisa.
This jewel of Pisan Gothic style built in 1333 was originally located on the Arno River. In order to avoid flooding, the church was dismantled in the 19th century and replaced on the banks of the river, embedded in the parapet, which makes it a curiosity to see. The Spina, the thorn, from the crown of Christ is now preserved in the church of Santa Chiara. Damaged by the floods, the church is no longer consecrated today. Inside are copies of Tommaso Pisano's statues.
