A historic restaurant in the city, taken up by Mr Kostas, Greek born, former president of the international sommelier association, Italy and his cuisine. His experience is great as his know-how and his recipes are the best way to understand the quality. In short time, the restaurant has already been very popular with the locals. A stone's throw from the cathedral square, it offers a relaxed atmosphere to taste home dishes: gnocchi al pesto lucchese, baccalà in plywood cotture, tagliata di acciughe and many others. A cuisine renowned for the freshness of its products. The most… a Greek menu in homage to the country master's country. Everything is served with the best wines in the region. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. In the summer a terrace is open on the medieval street.

It was getting a little late when we rocked up here. We were wined and dined to a super standard. Great little find that we just stumbled upon. If you have not yet visited Lucca get yoour finfer pulled out and get it organised. It is a delight!

Oh my goodness: Best restaurant we ate at in Lucca and the best restaurant we ate at on our two week trip in Italy.
Such a friendly family owned place. Amazing steak and food. They paired it with Malgiacca, a great local wine. We even bought a bottle to bring home.
Thank you so much for our experience there.

La location è tipica. La cucina è buona ma il rapporto qualità prezzo no. Porzioni ridotte.

Tasteless is the best word I could use to describe the Truffle and Egg appetizer my husband and I both ordered. It was a fried egg topped with a few flecks of truffles that had absolutely no smell and therefore no flavor. We spoke with the waitress and she said they are black truffles, not white truffles. That’s a ridiculous statement. Black truffles have a beautiful perfume too. We hardly saw her after that. The man whom I assume was the owner/manager also made himself scarce once we informed the waitress about the tasteless truffles. When it came time to check out we went to the cashier and said the appetizer was completely tasteless. She too tried to pass it off as black versus white truffle. We said we know what a truffle should taste like. She went to speak with the owner/manager, came back and admitted that 1) other customers complained of this too. 2) the truffles they got this week are “dead” and have no flavor. I replied that they shouldn’t be serving them to customers. Better no truffle than “dead” truffle. She begrudgingly removed one of the Truffle and Egg appetizers from the bill. So we ended up paying 13 euros for 2 plain fried eggs. Very disappointing. I’m embarrassed for them- knowingly serving bad food to customers, still charging them and never apologizing. They should have removed both appetizers and the manager should have apologized.

This place had been recommended to me a couple of times and unfortunately it didn’t live up to expectations. We ordered the goats cheese crostino to start and the bread was solid, we couldn’t cut it or break it with our hands. The topping of goats cheese was tasty but the bread was inedible. The main course was better, the ragu was tasty, however the aubergine pasta was overpowered by caramelised onions (which wasn’t stated on the menu). The nicest thing was the fresh bread they brought to start with oil. The staff were friendly but the service was very slow. It’s unfortunate, maybe we went on a bad night.. I hope if I go back it would be better! Also make sure to reserve if you want a table outside.
