VILLA LA PRINCIPESSA * * * *
At the foot of the lucquoises hills, at the centre of the wonders of the artistic heritage of Tuscany, La Principessa was the residence of the Duke of Lucca Castruccio Castracani (1281-1328) then transformed into a hotel in 1973. It has a beautiful and large park dating back over 800 years of age, where you can stroll through the trails leading to the green Bagni di Pisa, Garfagnana, Bargna, long bike ride, or relax by the pool. The original rooms, including 8 junior suites, are furnished with taste and refinement. The à la carte restaurant offers large variety of local dishes and Tuscan wines with special tasting by the swimming pool not to be missed.

This hotel is exactly what we thought of when we thought “Tuscany.” We are a family of 3 and the room was very spacious, and unique. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The room and bathroom were very clean and the shower was hot. The room came with its own A/C. And a nice view into the backyard. The staff was very polite and professional. I had asked them to leave a happy birthday note for our daughter and they surprised us with a little wrapped gift for her instead! She loved it.
The restaurant at the hotel has Excellent food! So delicious we ate their twice (the menu changed by day).
The breakfast they offer in the morning is abundant! They had 4 different types of juice, various pastries, fresh fruit (pears, plums, bananas, grapes, and apples) pancakes, eggs, sausages, cereal, oatmeal, toast with multiple spreads.
