VILLA MANSI
One of the most representative villas of the culture and society of the ancient aristocratic Republic in Lucca
Among the many villas in Lucchesia, the Baroque Villa of Mansi is certainly one of the most representative of the culture and society of the former aristocratic Republic. It dates back to the end of the 16th century, then was transformed in the 17th century according to the project of the great architect Filippo Juvarra. Surrounded by a splendid Italian and English park, the villa is decorated with numerous frescoes, including those in the hall by the neoclassical painter Stefano Tofanelli (1752-1812), originally from Lucca.
