Discovery of the birthplace of master Giacomo Puccini (1858-1924), the famous composer of operas such as La Bohème (1896), Tosca (1900), or Madame Butterfly (1904), which became a museum in 1979. The house has been carefully restored, respecting the spaces and decorations of the time, thanks to a thorough research in the archives of the city of Lucca. The reconstruction of Puccini's childhood home, the glory of the city, brings back to life the emotions of a distant past, and also makes the visitor feel the real atmosphere in which the master lived and where he began his career as a composer. The archives on display are numerous: letters, photos, scores, stage costumes... There is also the Steinway piano on which the master composed his ultimate work, Turandot, which is unfinished. For example, we learn that Giacomo Puccini was the worthy heir to a line of musicians: his father, grandfather and great-grandfather were important composers at the local level. Giacomo's mother soon noticed that her son also showed obvious musical dispositions. In short, a visit not to be missed, as an indispensable tribute to this brilliant composer immensely known.
As for souvenirs, in the bookshop, the objects and products on display bear a stamp with the facsimile of Giacomo Puccini's signature, thus perpetuating the continuity of his worldwide reputation.
