A place like nowhere else. One of the most impressive in Tuscany. It owes its name to the Roman amphitheatre that was there in the 2nd and 1st centuries BC, which could accommodate up to 10,000 spectators, whose ruins, about three metres deep, served as a base for the new buildings. Also known as Piazza del Mercato, it is surrounded by medieval buildings that have passed through time without difficulty in the enclosure of an almost perfect oval. A blond ochre light floods it during the day.

Qu'elle surprise après avoir passer sous une voute aménagée dans un bâtiment d'habitation de découvrir cette place piétonne animée ovale entourée de maisons différentes les unes des autres .
Un bijoux à contempler à la terrasse d'un des nombreux café.

Tout est beau à Lucca ! Pas seulement la place mais toutes les petites rue(lles)... Il faut s'y balader, s'y perdre, rentrer dans les magasins, boire un verre, y vivre l'ambiance. A ne pas rater !!!

Jolie place monopolisée par une énorme affiche de la Fox. J'y étais le jour précédant le Comics Festival. Ca n'en a pas pour autant ôté le charme.

Une place pleine de charme et très accueillante. Des restaurants/bars tout au long de cet oval vous acceuillent chalheureusement, personnel très sympa, et très loin du tourisme de masse de Florence, Venise etc.

Très belle place de forme ovale avec de nombreux restaurants. N'oubliez pas de faire un tour à pied ou en vélo sur les remparts qui font le tour de la ville c'est vraiment superbe.
