MUSEO CIVICO
Museum located in the Palazzo Comunale, exhibiting paintings by Piero della Francesca
This museum, in the town hall (14th century), exhibits paintings by Piero della Francesca, born in Sansepolcro around 1416, including the Resurrection, a masterpiece 2.25 m high and 2 m wide, created between 1463 and 1465. This fresco, dominated by the figure of Christ coming out of the tomb, illustrates the artist's ability to place iconographic elements from the repertoire of sacred images in a completely new stylistic context. Take the opportunity to see the beautiful Renaissance building where the master of perspective lived the last fourteen years of his life.
