LOGGIA DEL VASARI
Renaissance loggia opposite the Town Hall, framing part of the Piazza del Municipio.
Opposite the town hall, the beautiful Renaissance loggia, with its nine arches, frames part of the Piazza del Municipio, dating back to 1513, the year the town center was rebuilt. Already in the Middle Ages, a wooden loggia stood in the town's main square, hosting the market. The project to build the new loggia, contributing to the prestige of Castiglion Fiorentino, was carried out under the supervision of Giorgio Vasari, the trusted architect of the Grand Duke of Tuscany, Cosimo I. Take a closer look: the Medici coat-of-arms is engraved on it.
