The osteria PepeNero, run by the two friends, Marco and Antonio, is a delicious and quiet place, where all the dishes are taken care of and prepared on the spot with fresh products. Tagliata with arugula and parmesan, nettle gnocchetti with tomato and basil, spaghetti with seafood, tagliolini with the fish of the day... The menu, which is constantly evolving, favours the finest seasonal ingredients. There are also several tasting menus, from three to five courses, to discover the flavours of the moment on the island of Elba.

Il Pepenero è un capolavoro sensoriale. Il locale è nascosto dalla frenesia del centro, quasi intimo, ma facile da trovare. Il proprietario e lo staff sono gentilissimi, estremamente professionali: ti accompagnano con loro, spiegando con affetto tutto ciò che viene portato in tavola, sono davvero nei maestri nel farlo. Gli abbinamenti sono ricercati e studiati a pennello anche nella loro sequenza. Abbiamo ordinato l'esperienza dei sette assaggi di pesce: il polpo era eccezionale, lo spada con due cotture buonissimo, persino le zucchine marinate (un contorno!) si sono rivelate sensazionali nel gusto, incredibilmente croccanti e gustose. Gli antipasti, La strepitosa tartare di tonno, spinta al punto giusto, le linguine al burro di limone nero, il Benassi, l'omaggio al Casini.. insomma tutto è perfettamente bilanciato ma insolito allo stesso tempo. Il consiglio dato sul vino da abbinare azzeccatissimo. Non lasciatevi assolutamente scappare l'esperienza qui!

My expectations were very high since three different locals suggested coming here and they all said it was some of the best food on Elba

Good service but came away a bit disappointed with the food, nothing was particularly memorable or amazing and the price was the highest we paid on the island
