MUSEO ARCHEOLOGICO GIOVANNANGELO CAMPOREALE
The Massa Archaeological Museum, founded in 1867, exhibits the findings of numerous excavation campaigns in the region.
Housed in the proud Palazzo del Podestà (1225), the Museo Archeologico di Massa presents a collection organized chronologically, from the Paleolithic to the Etruscan period. Among the pieces on display, some in two life-size reconstructed caves (not to be missed!), the most eye-catching is the sandstone statue-stele from the Eneolithic Age (3rd millennium BC), found in the locality of Vado all'Arancio, and today still full of mystery.
