Restaurant of the starred chef Valeria Piccini, in the small perched village of Montemerano.

Opened in 1987 by Maurizio Menichetti and chef Valeria Piccini, it is now one of the most famous restaurants in Tuscany and even Italy. The atmosphere remains intimate with its few tables. Da Caino is nestled in a 13th century medieval hamlet south of Saturnia, Montemerano, where time seems to have stopped. The dishes prepared by Valeria are unforgettable, for a unique culinary experience, rewarded with two Michelin stars. A cuisine that is both spontaneous and thoughtful to the taste of the Maremma.

A wonderfull and cosy place. The food is succulent, authentic and emotional. The wine list is huge with prices that ok for such a location. The staff is not invasive and very professional. A favorite. Thank you!

La mia esperienza da Caino parte da un ricordo di una precedente cene che non esitavo a definire epica. Questa volta ho deciso di provare più piatti e scelto il menù antichi sapori. Non è stata una scelta felice. Abbastanza anonimi l'anguilla con yogurt e salicornia a senz' anima I tagliolini con alici, rapetti e pomodori secchi. Purtroppo un piatto slegato cenza un sapore deciso. Piacevoli I cannoli di pasta con anitra e ceci.Molto buoni invece i due secondi baccalà e soprattutto la coda di manzo. Ambiente elegante servizio attento e professionale e i vini abbinati.
Forse era meglio rimanere con un lontano ricordo di una cena memorabile.

Ci siamo stati per due sere consecutive. Vuol dire che ci siamo trovati benissimo. Trattasi del bistrot del celeberrimo Ristorante Caino, 2 stelle Michelin. Aperto durante la bella stagione, si mangia in una bella terrazza, o in una saletta rettangolare, oppure in alcuni tavolini in ferro lungo la bellissima romantica stradina di fronte al locale. Proposta food centrata, così come la proposta enologica. Agnello, Trippa e anche il Pollo alla cacciatora, sono tre piatti monumentali. Gli altri "solamente" molto buoni. La ragazza che ci ha seguito è molto brava, sempre sorridente e gentile. Però, forse, avrebbe bisogno di un aiuto: spesso deve correre e ha poco tempo per seguire i tavoli.

Normale esperienza di gusto. Niente di ché. Non tornerò. Per un menù da 200 euro a testa devo dire aspettative molto deluse. Non credo che il prezzo qualifichi il cibo mangiato e offerto anzi solitamente è e dovrebbe essere il contrario.
