DUOMO
Cathedral of Renaissance style built between 1586 and 1680 whose facade is flanked by a campanile of the XVth century
In the late Renaissance style, Montepulciano Cathedral was built between 1586 and 1680. The facade of this large building, flanked by a 15th century bell tower, was never completed; it still lacks its marble cladding. Inside, the simplicity of the place contrasts with its imposing dimensions. Above the altar, we will see a triptych of the Assumption of Taddeo di Bartolo, the baptismal font of Giovanni d'Agostino, the statue of Bartolomeo Aragazzi by Michelozzo, as well as a Virgin and Child of Sano di Pietro.
