ORATORIO SAN BERNARDINO
This oratory with a beautiful polychrome carved facade is dedicated to Saint Bernardine of Siena.
It is a small but precious gem of Renaissance architecture in Perugia, thanks to Agostino di Duccio. A beautiful polychrome sculpted façade, realized between 1457 and 1461, enriched with statues and marble bas-reliefs showing St. Bernardine in glory and scenes from his life. The interior, in Gothic style, has a gilded ceiling, fine stucco, paintings, and preserves a remarkable Paleochristian sarcophagus carved in the 4th century. This oratory is dedicated to Saint Bernardine of Siena, who visited Perugia regularly in the 15th century.
