BORGO DI CARPIANO
Hotel in the ruins of an old village of Gubbio, a place to stay of first choice.
Riccardo and Marilisa, a couple with a passion for travel and beautiful establishments, decided to buy the ruins of an old village, Carpiano, at the beginning of the 2000s. After years of construction work, the old buildings and the small church have been reborn from their ashes, and since 2009 they have been a first-rate place to stay. The mirrors that dominate the washbasins in the bathrooms are framed with the wood that was once used for the church windows. Ah the church! What a great idea to have made a huge living room out of it, with the altar as a bar.

Marilisa and Riccardo created a very special place and they give attention to every detail, while keeping a truly comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.
We have travelled extensively, and we can say, Borgo Di Carpiano is a gem trust we always look forward to come back to.
It's a pretty remote place to get to (more so mountain/dirt road wise than time wise), but you are rewarded with the setting, tranquility, and hospitality. Definitely plan to spend time just relaxing at the borgo as opposed to packing all your days with other sights/activities.
