Majestic palace with the most important collection of paintings in Umbria.
The majestic Palazzo Vitelli alla Cannoniera, erected by the Vitelli family in the second half of the 16th century, houses a municipal pinacoteca which has the most important collection of paintings in Umbria after the National Gallery of Perugia. In the beautifully decorated rooms you can admire masterpieces by Piero della Francesca, Raphael, Domenico Ghirlandaio and Luca Signorelli (The Martyrdom of Saint Sebastian), as well as beautiful terracotta pieces by the della Robbia family: Andrea and his sons, Giovanni and Luca.
