ABBAZIA SAN PIETRO
The Abbey of San Pietro is an important stop in a cultural itinerary of the city.
Restored after the 1997 earthquake that seriously damaged its foundations, the abbey is a choice stop on a cultural itinerary of the city. The Abbey of San Pietro was founded by a Benedictine community. It is an example of Gothic-Romanesque construction dating back to 1029, rebuilt in the 12th century, and whose interior with its pure forms and the frescoes that decorate the left nave are particularly noteworthy. It is divided into three naves by solid pillars and has three entrance doors.
