CHIESA SAN FRANCESCO
A 15th century church exhibiting archaeological objects and drawings from the Umbrian and Tuscan schools.
This 15th century church, with its beautiful rectangular façade, now houses the municipal art gallery where archaeological objects and drawings of the Umbrian and Tuscan schools are exhibited. Among the most famous are frescoes by Matteo da Gualdo and the polyptych with the Nativity of Jesus by the painter Niccolò di Liberatore. This work dates from 1483 and was commissioned by the municipality of Nocera. A statue of the Virgin, in polychrome wood, is the work of an Umbrian sculptor of the mid-14th century.
