ARCO DI DRUSO E GERMANICO
Arch made of large square blocks of travertine stone located a few steps from Piazza del Mercato.
A few steps from Piazza del Mercato, this arch made of large square blocks of travertine stone is all that remains of a Roman temple. It once marked the entrance to the Forum. One of its feet gets lost in the inner wall of the adjoining shop. The Drusio Arch thus symbolizes the integration of Spoleto's Roman heritage into the urban landscape. The inscription still visible indicates that it was erected on the initiative of the Senate of Spoleto in the year 23 AD.
