CHIESA SAN SALVATORE
The oldest church in the city of Terni, offering an impressive austere appearance.
It is the oldest church in the town, of early Christian origin (5th century). Dominated by its central cylindrical mass, it has an impressive, almost enigmatic austere appearance. Inside there are frescoes from the first half of the 12th century (of Sienese influence) and, in the apse, a crucifixion of the Umbrian school from the early 16th century. The ex voto frescoes on the side walls are very peculiar, and three of them represent the Madonna del latte (the nursing Virgin).
