A funicular railway set up in 1888 leaves from the bottom of the hill, near the railway station (where there is a small car park) to reach piazza Cahen in the historic centre of Orvieto in two minutes. You will experience a journey full of poetry and climb the wooded hill to reach the piazza. Be prepared to admire the view of the Umbrian countryside as you climb, as it doesn't last long, but the scenery is enchanting. The bus ride from piazza Cahen to piazza Duomo is included in the ticket price.
