MUSEO CLAUDIO FAINA
Museum preserving a collection of Etruscan pieces, coming from the excavations in the necropolis of Orvieto.
Palazzo Faina dates back to 1864 and houses this museum which exhibits an interesting collection of Etruscan artefacts from the excavations in the necropolis of Orvieto. You can see sculpted warrior heads, vases with black figures, bronze figurines (7th-2nd century BC) and the Etruscan talent for goldsmithing. From the museum you can admire the facade of Orvieto Cathedral. Since spring 2020, the museum has been perfumed with the scent of lavender: "A museum with the scent of lavender" is the title of this original initiative.
