Complex rich in Etruscan, medieval and Renaissance remains in the middle of the medieval quarter of Orvieto.
Right in the middle of the medieval quarter, this complex of 9 caves is rich in Etruscan, medieval and Renaissance remains. During his stay in 1527, Pope Clement VII ordered the construction of a well on the site of an ancient Etruscan cistern to allow the city to have access to water in the event of a siege. The visit allows you to discover different periods of the city of Orvieto. In 2017 the Pozzo della Cava inaugurated a ceramics workshop, Cantiere Ceramica, a place of artisan production where different materials and techniques are worked.
