Oratory with one of the most beautiful baroque interiors in Aquila
The Oratory of San Giuseppe dei Minimi, together with the Basilica of San Giuseppe Artigiano, forms a monumental complex of interest in L'Aquila. It dates back to 1649 and has one of the most beautiful baroque interiors in the city, designed by the architect Giovan Francesco Leomporri, who also designed the façade of Santa Maria del Suffragio. The oratory temporarily housed the remains of Pope Celestine V during the restoration of the Basilica of Santa Maria di Collemaggio.
