BASILICA SAN GIUSEPPE ARTIGIANO
Church with works of the painter Giovanni Gasparro in Aquila.
Formerly called San Biagio d'Amiternum, this church is linked to the foundation of the city and, together with the oratory of San Giuseppe dei Minimi, forms an interesting monumental pole. The basilica preserves frescoes of great artistic value and the funerary stele of Ludovico Camponeschi. Reopened in 2012, after the renovation work following the earthquake of 2009, its interior has been enriched with works by the painter Giovanni Gasparro, a native of Puglia.
