Basilica of Romano-Gothic style with a façade of small blocks of white and pink stone
This basilica is located slightly outside the historical center, not far from the bus station. The originality of this building of Romanesque-Gothic style lies among other things in its amazing facade composed of small blocks of white and pink stone, like a gigantic mosaic. It was erected from 1287 by the will of Pietro del Morrone, future Pope Celestine V, who was crowned in 1294 and who rests in a tomb on the right of the nave.
