CASTELLO PICCOLOMINI - MUSEO DELLA MARSICA
Castle in the plain of Fucino turned into a museum with archaeological finds and sacred art objects
The castle majestically dominates the plain of Fucino and offers a vast panorama on the surroundings. Its construction dates back to 1392, on the initiative of Count Pietro Berardi, who wanted a military fortress. It was then modified in 1451 to take on a Renaissance look. This archetypal medieval castle is now a museum. The first floor is dedicated to archaeological finds of the region, from the Bronze Age to the Middle Ages; the first floor contains objects of sacred art.
