CHIESA DI SAN PIETRO
Works of the Cosmati in a church of the XII century, with a superb view on the plain of Fucino in Alba.
Situated on top of one of the three hills overlooking the Roman site, this church offers a magnificent view of the Fucino plain, which was once a lake before being drained and becoming the granary of Rome. It is built on an ancient temple dedicated to Apollo, but its current structure dates back to the 13th century. Various restoration works and restructurations have taken place over the centuries. The main interest of the building are its two works of the Roman marble Cosmati of the XII and XIII centuries and their splendid mosaics.
