Citadel composed of old barracks, bastions, museum exhibiting weapons, archives and maps
After several years of restoration, this 25,000m2 citadel has opened its doors to visitors. It is one of the largest military engineering achievements in Europe. It was completely restructured in 1564 by Philip II and then, in the 18th century, by the Bourbons. The old barracks, bastions, and a museum with weapons, maps and archives are on display. The whole is punctuated with superb panoramas on the valley.
