This building of early Christian origin was renovated in the 19th and 20th centuries. The basilica is large and was built partially of brick. Inside, there is a sarcophagus (15th century) and a magnificent solid silver bust of St. Thomas, a reliquary that is brought out every year during the procession of the feast of St. Thomas.
