MUSEI PALAZZO D'AVALOS
Museum with a collection of archaeological materials of the Italic and Roman civilizations in Vasto
Located in the palace of Avalos, this museum complex contains an interesting collection of archaeological materials from the Italic and Roman civilizations that succeeded each other in Histonium-Vasto. There is also a Neapolitan garden (steep!) on the sea, and a modern art gallery.
Palazzo d'Avalos. A stately residence built in the early 14th century, the palace was looted and destroyed during an Ottoman raid in 1566. Rebuilt in Renaissance style, it was once the home of Vittoria Colonna (1490-1547), a woman of letters.
