RISERVA NATURALE REGIONALE DI PUNTA ADERCI
Natural reserve with beaches, extending from the port of Vasto to the mouth of the river Sireno
The Punta Aderci Regional Nature Reserve extends over an area of 400 hectares, from the port of Vasto to the mouth of the river Sireno, along a coastline with long sandy beaches, interrupted by the cliffs of the Punta Aderci promontory, from which there is a splendid view. It is, without a doubt, one of the most enchanting natural landscapes of the Abruzzo coastline. To discover it easily, there are paths and cycle tracks and, at the information point at the entrance, it is possible to rent canoes, bicycles, umbrellas and deckchairs. One of the undeniable assets of the site is its immense beaches, free and protected, bordered by dunes with preserved vegetation and fauna. A real asset during the summer period, especially since it is sometimes difficult to find free beaches on the coast. The map of the reserve is available at the tourist office of Vasto or on the Internet.
Spiaggia di Punta Penna. Are you looking for a free beach, huge and free of hotel loungers and other paying screens? Well, you'll find it at Punta Penna (9 km north of Vasto, just past the port). Welcome to the nature reserve of Punta Aderci, where you can swim in peace and quiet along the small dunes of golden sand. A rare opportunity on this very busy coast... to be seized! If you prefer small pebble beaches, go to the beach of Mottagrossa, a little further north.
