Cathedral with a Roman sculpture at each corner.
The cathedral was built on and with the remains of a pagan temple dating from the 3rd century BC, dedicated to the triad Jupiter-Juno-Minerve. Rebuilt after the earthquake of 1805, it now boasts a neoclassical Parthenon façade and beautiful proportions (the golden ratio is not far off). To its right, a massive medieval tower opens with an ogival arch over Corso Marcelli, the main axis of the old center.
