FONTANA DELLA FRATERNA
Very beautiful public fountain of Romanesque style with a particular aspect of a small loggia.
It is without doubt one of the most beautiful monuments of its kind. This beautiful public fountain, located in the large Giosuè Carducci square, halfway between the train station and the historical center, was built in the 14th century. It was built with reused stones from a funeral mausoleum belonging to a patrician family of Isernia, the Ponzia family, famous for having Pontius Pilate in its dynasty. It is Romanesque and has the particular appearance of a small loggia, with its six semicircular arches.
