CASTELLO PIGNATELLI
Like so many other fortresses in the upper Volturno valley, Monteroduni Castle has a Lombard origin. From the thirteenth century to the first half of the fifteenth century, its strategic importance diminishing, it successively appeared to several large feudal families of the kingdom of Naples. In the seventeenth century, the Pignatelli transformed the building, to the rectangular and well preserved plan, into a luxurious residence better accorded to the morals of the time. Today, it is located at the City Hall, but can be visited on request.
