ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM
Museum presenting vestiges found in the nearby necropolises.
In the heart of the city, the museum occupies the old convent of Santa Chiara (17th century). It presents the different stages of Venafro's development, numerous testimonies from the Roman period, as well as the remains found in the nearby necropolis. The exhibition is spread over two floors, according to chronological and thematic criteria. Among the most valuable pieces is an edict written between the seventeenth and eleventh centuries B.C., which contains the rules for the construction and use of the Roman aqueduct in the city.
