CHIESA DI SAN FRANCESCO
Cathedral with a dome covered with frescoes made by Paolo Gamba in 1747.
Adjacent to the Cathedral of San Pardo and at the foot of the Ducal Palace, this church was built in the 14th century and then rebuilt in the 18th century (especially its stone portal) in a more baroque-rococo style. Reopened in 2018 after extensive restoration work, you can admire its dome covered with frescoes by the artist Paolo Gamba in 1747 (L'Incoronazione della Vergine). Inside the church, other works such as several paintings of the Neapolitan school of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
