CHIESA MADONNA DI CANNETO
Church with a single nave and a rustic façade with two imposing columns topped by a tympanum.
The church, perched at an altitude of 1,030 m, was built on the remains of an ancient Roman villa in the 12th century, following the apparition of the Virgin to a shepherdess. Its rustic facade is pierced by an entrance door framed by two imposing columns topped by a tympanum and a bull's eye. Inside, one can admire the "ambone pulpito", an arcature surmounted by a frieze of sculpted cartouches. All the decorative and architectural elements betray a certain Byzantine influence.
